Commercial transparency

Advertising and affiliate disclosure

This page states whether DelayDesk currently earns from external links and what a labelled commercial link means for you.

Current status

No active affiliate links: the current build contains no configured commercial referral URL and DelayDesk earns no commission from the links it currently publishes.

How commercial links are identified

When a commercial referral is active, its call to action must be marked “Advertisement · affiliate link” before you click it. The named external provider sets its own contract, customer fee and claim process. A general disclosure at the bottom of a page does not replace that adjacent label.

Government, regulator, ADR and official airline links are editorial links and do not generate commission unless a page explicitly says otherwise. An internal link to DelayDesk's neutral managed-options explanation is not an advertisement.

What a commission does and does not mean

DelayDesk itself does not charge you to use the checker. A managed claims provider normally deducts its customer fee under its own contract when its conditions are met. DelayDesk does not receive or distribute the airline's compensation in the current product.

Claiming directly from the operating airline is free. CAA-approved ADR is also available to consumers without hiring a claims company when the applicable complaint conditions are met. The free route remains visible before any commercial option.

Selection and conflicts

Payment alone does not qualify a provider. Before activation, DelayDesk requires written programme acceptance, an identifiable legal entity, clear customer fees, complaint and cancellation routes, appropriate privacy terms, and traceable attribution. These are internal commercial checks, not approval or endorsement by the CAA, GOV.UK or FCA.

Commercial relationships do not change the rule engine. If multiple providers are ever compared, the page must explain the ordering method and must not rank a provider solely by the commission paid.

Tracking and privacy

A provider may receive a referral identifier and normal web-request information after you deliberately follow its labelled link. The current checker does not attach its answers to that link. See the privacy notice and cookie and storage notice.
